Tanja Maria Amtmann
The Discovery of Art from Necessity & a Galaxy of Joy

Please say goodbye to the myth of the pretentious, tormented artist, as Tanja Maria Amtmann does not fit into this mold at all. Her art is characterized by boundless energy and joy for life, which is reflected repeatedly in her works – whether in playful, colorful pieces or in delicate, tranquil compositions. Each of her works radiates unstoppable movement, a flow of colors and forms that intuitively captivates the viewer.
Tanja Maria Amtmann was born in 1983 and grew up in an environment shaped by creativity and aesthetics – with a sense for all things beautiful – but with no direct connection to the fine arts.
Her path to painting did not begin with a classical artistic education, but rather out of necessity. In search of a piece of art for her own home that matched her vision, she realized that no existing work would fulfill her expectations. Instead of continuing her search, she casually decided to pick up a brush and paint herself. What began as a pragmatic solution turned into a passionate, creative blossoming in just one night.
Already with her first work, she felt how painting created a galaxy of joy within her.
That very joy and passion remain the driving force behind her works to this day. Her pieces, originally intended for her own home, quickly gained great recognition. Soon, her works caught the attention of art lovers and local interior designers via social media. Invitations from renowned galleries in cities such as Rome, Madrid, and Vienna followed rapidly.
Her works, often embodying a symbiosis between modern and timeless elements, have since developed a distinctive style characterized by elegance and subtle color choices, carrying their profound emotional messages. In 2023, she celebrated her first exhibitions in Luxembourg and Madrid and experienced international success. Her steadily growing fan base and the broad recognition she has received for her art are the expression of an artistic journey that has gone far beyond her original necessity.
